Standby! Rolling! Background Action! Action!

it is... guess who? ANNA!

So, as you guys know, we were in a movie on Thursday. We arrived in Essaouira on Wednesday night. On Thursday morning, we got picked up in vans at 7:30 and went to this HUGE base camp and ate breakfast (there was a buffet). Then, we went to the costume room, and after that we went to the makeup room.

(me in the makeup room)
more me!
Tommy (sigh)
Then, we went to the set-that-wasn't-really-a-set. It was basically a huge field that had a BUNCH of tents rigged up by the movie people, and cars, and trailers etc.

We got put into family groups. We were given another "father" -- or as my Mom likes to put it, she got a "new husband" (Dad was at a philosophy conference in Germany so he couldn't come) -- as well as two 16 year old "brothers" (Mom says that one looked like RPatz).

Here's one of the brothers (not the one who looks like RPatz) with Tommy.

me... smiling at the camera.

Finally we got started at about 10. It was kind of boring because it was a breakfast scene, and we had to do the same thing OVER AND OVER again, which consisted of eating and talking by our tent. But, since we were right up close we could see all the cameras (about five were going at a time), and we could hear and see the actors.

We did it for about a hour and a half. Sadly, we couldn't take photos of the actors or the movie while it was going.

Here's Tommy, showing just how excited he was about everything after about nearly 2 hours of filming.

When we were done with the morning scene we went swimming and played on the playground. It was SO HOT!!!

After that we did the evening scene. That was awesome for me because one of the main actors who was in the movie was really nice, and since the tent he was setting up in this scene was right next to ours, we got to talk to him.

He introduced me to one of the kid main characters, a 17-year old girl who was super nice. He also wanted me to throw a ball at his head during one scene, and the director liked it! (We'll see if it makes the movie). Then, at the end of the evening, when we were still practicing the evening scene, they gave out sandwiches to the actual actors and when he thought Tommy was hungry, he gave Tommy his sandwich. He even took Tommy and me back to see the movie footage, where the director and staff were reviewing it.

All in all it was pretty awesome.

I will write again soon!
